The Education, Child and Family Studies program provides an interdisciplinary approach to educate individuals to function effectively in changing family, community and work environments. It draws upon the physical, biological, behavioral and social sciences, the arts, and business to prepare individuals for gainful employment, advanced study and lifelong learning. Students are educated in the integrated disciplines of foods and nutrition and child development to develop skills that improve the quality of life for individuals, families and society as a whole.
A Certificate of Achievement is available in Early Childhood Education. Also available is an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, Associate Degree in Child Development, and an Associate Degree for Transfer in Early Childhood Education.
Typical courses in the Family and Consumer Studies curriculum include: Child Development and Foods and Nutrition.
